About Me

How do you help ASNOA Affiliates?
I help guide the ASNOA team to act as extensions of each agency, allowing agents access to vital departmental needs focused on licensing, training, ongoing education, marketing, accounting support, plus much more.

What is your favorite part of working with ASNOA Affiliates?
I like to think we are not your mom and dad's traditional IA network. I believe in the holistic approach to supporting the independent agent force through resources, support services, and technology advancement that allow agents to have the look and feel of a million-dollar revenue agency out of the gates.

Tell us your story:
I have been a lifer at ASNOA, starting as an intern out of college in the Accounting Department. Throughout my tenure, I have worked with and touched all facets of the business, with a concentration in systems and efficiencies. Almost 14 years later, I was promoted to COO and within the first year, we doubled our recruiting results over the previous year. I have my sights set on a five-year goal to triple the network size. I believe that success is bred from a healthy culture. This can be seen by any and all visitors that make their way through the ASNOA headquarters. I like to concentrate on helping employees, Affiliates, and their staff, develop both professionally and personally.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of the office?
I really enjoy spending time with my family. With two kids under two, I have harnessed my diaper changing skills from novice to a respectable advanced level in just a short 23 months. Traveling (which isn't so easy now), golfing, and yard work (believe it or not) are a few of my other interests outside of the office.

What is your favorite food?
Ma! The meatloaf!

Mike Petro Headshot Michael Petrocelli
Executive Vice President About Me

How do you help ASNOA Affiliates?
Maximize additional compensation opportunities for ASNOA Affiliates in all our operating states.

What is your favorite part of working with ASNOA Affiliates?
Hearing longtime insurance professionals express the notion of "having fun again" after they have joined ASNOA.

Tell us your story:
I started in the insurance industry right out of college over 20 years ago. My career has taken me from being part of a top 20 insurer in the United States as a corporate employee, training new agents and their staff on the proprietary computer systems they used to run their agencies to the IA channel where I have been for going on 15 years. In many roles over that time period, I have helped new agents navigate that transition from captive to independent agency owner. Whether as part of the captive space or as I moved over to the IA channel, a couple of tenants have remained the same; clients ultimately value the personal relationship above all else in choosing their trusted insurance advisors. Furthermore, It is those personal relationships that not only help to drive client behaviors but also serve me as I work to enhance our value proposition as one of the leading Independent Agency Organizations in the industry.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of the office?
I am happiest watching one of my four boys play a variety of sports over the course of the year.

What is your favorite food?
Insert Cliché here… Pizza.

I have a proven track record giving guidance to agents by setting best practices, developing workflows within an agency, and teaching agents how to utilize their Agency Management System. I present at multiple Applied Net Conferences, participate on the Product Advisory Committee, and continually strive to make day-to-day processes easier. Overall, I take pride in assisting new ASNOA Agents transition into the independent agency sector, as well as providing ongoing training for new agent's staff. On a personal side, I'm very happily married to my "Prince Charming" and together we have five children and five grandchildren. Getting to know them and their "stories". ASNOA Affiliates are great people, and I so enjoy talking with them when helping them out. Affiliates are part of our ASNOA family. It is a great family to be a part of!

Tell us your story:
I began in the insurance industry back as a Met Life Insurance Agent in 1988.  I have worked for captive life agencies and brokerage agencies in the life and investment areas, in and out of the Chicagoland area.  Prior to insurance, I was a retail manager for many years with the old Service Merchandise Catalog Showroom, where I started as a clerk in 1980.  My very first job however, was a fountain girl at Farrell's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor for a year.  I "retired" from insurance and retail in 1998 to be a stay at home mom for a few years taking care of my son Brendan and daughter Baylee, now 19 and 22 years old!  I then began a 15 year career in the funeral industry, working as the Office Manager for Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Berwyn and Willowbrook, IL.  I sold pre-need funeral plans as well, being that I was still a licensed life insurance agent.  With the shift in funeral services to mostly cremation versus full funerals,  I changed careers once more, leaving the funeral homes, for a Case Manager position at a brokerage life agency, Sequoia Premier Partners, in Naperville, IL.   My last move in October of 2018, was to join ASNOA as Agency Services Coordinator, a challenging and very busy position that I love.  I totally enjoy working with the great staff of friends (family) every day. I am an elected Township Trustee in my hometown of Berwyn, IL., I am on the Berwyn 708 Mental Health Board as designated trustee, and I am the music director and children's school choir director at St. Leonard Church in Berwyn.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of the office?
I like to go to concerts in the parks, play violin and flute, read books, go to dinner with friends, and play with my dogs, Benny, Macho, Lola, Bear, Kaiju, and Milo.

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is a Czech dish called "Svickova".  It is a boiled beef in tomato cream gravy served with bread dumplings.

Comptroller About Me How do you help ASNOA Affiliates?
I help our Affiliates by providing backroom accounting support. We gather all the commissions and provide an aggregated report that shows agency revenues and how much individual producers bring into the agency on a monthly basis. In addition, we have created customized reports for our affiliates so they can be informed about top carriers, premium, and commission volumes. What is your favorite part of working with ASNOA Affiliates?
I most enjoy helping our affiliates reach new levels of revenue that they thought were unreachable. Bringing my experience and expertise to the table allows our affiliates to grow at a much quicker pace than ever before. Tell us your story:

Laura Hamilton
Director of Education About Me

How do you help ASNOA Affiliates?
I work onsetting up agencies and staff into EPIC, along with training affiliates, producers, and CSR's on their management system, EPIC. Besides training on our EPIC system, I have developed a new online course for Personal Lines Insurance. I'm looking to create more classes to help agents be better agents. Basically I help new agents drink from the fire hose. It gets easier after working with the training department.

What is your favorite part of working with ASNOA Affiliates?
Working with agents and watching them grow.

Tell us your story:
I started as a captive agent until I finally realized that the grass is greener on the other side and joined ASNOA with an independent agency - a decision that should have been made years prior. I joined ASNOA as a full-time staff member in 2007 focusing on customer service, remarketing, and building reports to manage and operate the agency management system. My passion to teach system organization skills led me to the ASNOA Education Department. I specialized in live and recorded trainings on agency management systems, developing new "How To" videos and created standard operating procedures and system manuals. With the growing organization and hard-earned SBCS, PLCS and ITP designations, I was promoted to Director of Education where I develop new training classes, interactive online resources, live workshops for the sales conferences, and a full curriculum for PLCC. I also host the popular "Live with Laura," that goes over a new business tool or hot issue with agents every month in a live and highly interactive webinar. I am also the official party planner for the office and like to keep things positive and fun.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of the office?
Spending time outside, working in the yard, and enjoying the sunshine! Life is all about sunshine and rainbows.

What is your favorite food?
Seriously, I only get to add one? You don't get to look like this by only having one favorite food.
