Our Privacy Policy
Our Commitment to Privacy
We are the Agent Support Network of America (which we refer to, together with the ASNOA companies described below, as “us”, “we,” or “our”). We take your privacy seriously, and are publishing this Privacy Policy so that you can be informed of how we collect, use, and share information.
This Privacy Notice provides you with information about the practices we employ with respect to information collected through our website, www.asnoa.com, which we refer to as the Site.
PLEASE NOTE: This Privacy Notice applies only to ASNOA Services, LLC and to the entities we operate under the Agent Support Network of America name, which we refer to as the “ASNOA companies.” This Privacy Notice does not describe the information collection, use, and sharing practices of insurance agencies we may partner with or provide services to, and we are not responsible for how any insurance agency collects, uses, or shares your information. If you are a customer of an insurance agency and you wish to know more about their information practices, you should contact your agent.
YOU SHOULD CAREFULLY READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY. By accessing, browsing, or otherwise using the Site, you are creating a binding contract between you and us, and you are acknowledging that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy and would prefer that we not collect, use, or share your information as we describe, you should not use the Site or provide is with any information.
Personal Information We May Collect
“Personal Information” is information that could be used to personally identify you, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, social security number, and the like. In some cases, Personal Information may include technical information such as the IP address of your computer or mobile device, if that IP address can be associated with other Personal Information and used to identify a particular person, or geo-location information, again if that information can be used to pinpoint a particular individual.
In most cases, we will collect Personal Information from you only if you voluntarily provide it to us, and you may browse the Site without giving us any Personal Information. However, if you apply to join our team, sign up for training or events, use any interactive features of our Site (such as the “Contact Us” feature), or otherwise engage with us, you may need you to provide us with Personal Information in order to receive our services and enjoy the benefits of participating in our events.
The categories of Personal Information you may be asked to provide include the following:
- Personal identifiers, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and image (such as your professional headshot);
- Professional and employment information, such as your employer, job title, company information, job history, and other biographical information;
- Personal characteristics, such as your dietary preferences, any special needs accommodations, and clothing size; and
- Feedback, such as your comments and questions relating to your participation in our events and use of our services, including comments you may post on our blog.
In addition, as noted below we may automatically collect your IP address if you browse the Site. And, some mobile network providers may use technology that tracks the physical location of the mobile device that uses their service, in which case we may automatically receive this location information. However, unless you provide us with other Personal Information, we will not be able to use the IP address or location information to personally identify you.
Automatic Collection of Information Through Our Site
Like most websites, we may automatically gather certain technical information about your visit to the Site and store it in log files. This information includes the internet domain from which you access the Site, the IP address of the computer from which you access the Site, the browser type, the date and time you access the Site, and the URLs of the individual pages you visit. This automatically gathered data may include information provided through the use of “cookies”, which we describe in more detail below. We use this information to collect data on the number of visitors to the Site, to administer and develop the Site, and to track users’ movements around the Site. This information, on its own, is not personally identifiable. However, we may link the automatically-collected data we collect about your visit to the Site to Personal Information in connection with our use of your Personal Information.
Cookies
When you use the Site, we may store some information on your computer in the form of a “cookie” or similar file. “Cookies” are small data text files that are either used for the duration of a session (“session cookies”) or saved on a user’s hard drive in order to identify that user the next time he or she logs on to the Site (“persistent cookies”).
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser’s settings to prevent that. Because each browser is different, you should look at your browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to modify these settings. If you do disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain sections of the Site, and this may make your experiences on the Site less efficient.
How We May Use The Information we Collect
We will use the Personal Information we collect in connection with the services we offer. For example, we will use this information:
- To obtain questions and feedback from prospects and members of our team;
- To assess interest in joining the ASNOA team as an affiliated member;
- To register event sponsors and attendees;
- To provide our newsletters;
- To enter participants into marketing email campaigns or other promotional events; and
- To allow members to use personalized login features on the Site/
We will also use the information we collect to improve our products and services, to develop and offer new products and services, and to perform other activities that are related to our and our affiliate members’ business, as permitted by law.
In addition, unless you specify that you would prefer not to hear from us, we may use the email address that you provide us when you log onto the Site or otherwise contact us to contact you for promotional or other purposes. You may have these communications terminated at any time by contacting us or by clicking on any “unsubscribe” link contained in a promotional email. We will use reasonable efforts to discontinue any such communications following your request, although you should be aware that due to production schedules, you may receive communications already in production at the time your request is received.
We may also use anonymized data or de-identified data for analytical purposes, such as to understand more about our member base, our business, and our industry.
How We Share Information
We may share Personal Information (including information about our transactions and experiences with you) within our group of affiliated companies (including among the ASNOA companies) for our internal business purposes, to help meet your product and service needs.
We may also provide Personal Information with our member affiliates, insurance carriers, and vendors who sponsor ASNOA events. These third parties may use the information we provide so that they can advertise their own products and services. If you would not like us to share your Personal Information in this manner, please contact us at contact@asnoa.com.
In addition, we may share Personal Information with vendors, who provide our affiliated members with discounted products or services. If you would not like us to share your Personal Information in this manner, please contact us at contact@asnoa.com.
We may also provide Personal Information to our trusted service providers who use that information only to conduct business on our behalf. For example, they may handle our data management, email distribution, and promotions management. We provide our preferred service providers with the information they need to perform their services and work with them to respect and protect your information.
If we were to undertake a sale or merger transaction, both Personal Information and non-personally identifiable information are generally part of the transferred assets acquired or transferred in such transactions. We will not otherwise sell any of your Personal Information to anyone for any purpose.
We will release Personal Information if we believe that such action is appropriate to (1) comply with law, (2) enforce any terms of use applicable to the Site, (3) identify, contact or bring legal action against any persons who are causing or we believe will cause injury to us or a third party, or (4) otherwise protect the rights, property or personal safety of us, our employees, our affiliated members, Site users or others.
Other than as set forth in this privacy policy, we will share the Personal Information with outside parties only with your consent or as required by law.
Social Sharing Features
The Site offers social network and similar sharing features. These features allow you to interact with social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin using buttons that let you access our social media pages and allow you to share information through your preferred social media platforms. If you permit a connection between our Site and your social network page(s), we (and the social network) may be able to identify you, and associate the information we (and they) receive with information we (and they) already have about you. In addition, depending on how you use those features and your settings with the social network provider(s), the information you share to your social network pages will be available to others, including your friends and/or the public. For more information about how your information may be shared through those social networks once it is provided to them, you should review the privacy policies of those social networks.
In addition, if you interact with us through our social media pages, such as through an exchange of comments on our Facebook or Linkedin accounts, or interactions through the messenger feature of social media sites, that interaction will also be governed by the privacy policies of the applicable social media site
Third Party Tracking
Third parties, such as analytics providers like HubSpot and Google, may be able to set cookies on our Site. They may also use cookies, on our behalf, to promote our newest products and services on other websites based on your activity on our Site. In addition, various third parties, including our analytics providers and our ad partners, may use cookies, alone or with other tracking technology, to collect information about you when you use the Site for their own purposes, independent from us. These third parties may be able to associate the information they collect with your personal information, or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across other website and online services. They may use this information to provide you with behavioral advertising or other targeted content on other websites and through other media.
We cannot control any third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly
Currently, certain browsers, including Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer, offer a “do not track” (or, “DNT”) option. This option, using a technology known as a DNT header, sends a signal to websites visited by the user about the user’s DNT preference, if any, set on the browser. Our Site does not currently commit to responding to browsers’ DNT signals. We cannot make this commitment because no common industry standard for DNT has been adopted by industry groups, technology companies, or regulators.
How to Update or Change Your Information
If you have provided us with any information and believe it is incorrect or has been changed since you provided it, or if you would like us to remove any Personal Information from our records, please contact us at contact@asnoa.com.
Data Security
In order to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of any Personal Information you provide to us, we have put into place standard physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
Unfortunately, no electronic data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we believe that we use reasonable measures to protect Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted or otherwise provided to us or received from us. This is especially true for information that is transmitted via e-mail that is unprotected until it reaches our servers.
Other Sites; Third Party Collection of Information
The Site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by other websites. We do not control third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policy of any website linked to from the Site.
